12 Oct The heart of Paleokastritsa
This villa is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Paleokastritsa, surrounded by the mountains and very very close to the sea which you can observe from any room or from the terrace. The view is really breathtaking as you can see so many beautiful things at once: green mountains, caves, beaches, boats running here and there. A lot of fun was looking at people in their boats through binoculars. It is nice to have a dinner on the terrace. Evenings are calm, air is fresh and full of the chirping of cicadas. There is no big hotel or anything like that close to the villa so it is really a quiet area, at least it looked like that in the end of September. Little supermarkets, taverna, bus stop and beaches are very close to the villa. A bit further away there are more tavernas, supermarkets, beaches and bakeries. If you like to walk (about 20 minutes) or have a car there is a wide range of things around. There is The Monastery of Virgin Mary of Paleokastritsa which is worth visiting. It is an example of classic monastery architecture with a pleasant atmosphere of tranquility and comfort. The views from this place are astonishing. One would think that the villa and the sea views are the only main features but in my opinion there is one more not less important thing – the host. Katerina is one of the friendliest persons I have ever met. She was always ready to help us whatever we needed. Her attention to the details from the decoration of the villa to all the safety things (the house is safe for little kids, terrace is fully closed etc) is pleasant. All the above makes this place a heart of Paleokastritsa in any sense. — 7-Oct-2015
