Villa Giovannina is owned by the great grand- daughter of Giovannina herself. As a young girl, she came to live at the Achillion Palace with her parents, who were part of the entourage of the empress. Her father was the captain of her yacht and her mother was in charge of the palace and all the servants. She married and her children grew up running and playing in the palace gardens. They continued to live there during the Kaiser’s occupation of the Achillion until the beginning of WW2, when they left to live in Alexandria. In 1960 her son and grand- son returned to Corfu and built this villa, where she spent her final years, enjoying the tranquility and remembering times gone by.
The villa has been transformed by a complete restoration program providing an environment of the highest standard whilst adhering to an eco-friendly philosophy throughout. The villa is set on a hillside overlooking the bay with breath-taking views down the south-west coast of Corfu. The house is centrally air-conditioned, has a pool with hydro-massage and a small gym with a massage table (appointments can be booked for a fee) All beds and bedding have been provided by COCO MAT, an internationally known company using only natural materials in their products.

The distance from the Corfu Town, where the port and the airport are located as well, is about 25 kilometers.
